چکیده
Noise radar is a very promising technology offering advantages which cannot be achieved in classical radar systems. Unfortunately, it has also several disadvantages. One of the most significant is the masking effect, where strong objects raise the noise floor preventing detection of weak ones and significantly affecting dynamic range. In this article method of designing waveform with reduced noise floor is presented. Keywords—Noise radar, noise SAR, waveform design.

Channel Influence Mitigation in Pseudo-Noise Waveform Design for Radar Applications
Noise Radar is a rapidly developing technology which uses noise or pseudo-noise waveforms as sounding signals to detect targets of interest. The advantages of such waveforms are no range nor velocity ambiguities, the possibility of using continuous waveform and low probability of intercept. However, the noise waveform correlation sidelobes are spread across the entire range–Doppler plane and th...
متن کاملLocally Optimal Radar Waveform Design for Detecting Doubly Spread Targets in Colored Noise
Radar transmit signal design is a critical factor for the radar performance. In this paper, we 1 investigate the problem of radar signal waveform design under the small signal power conditions 2 for detecting a doubly spread target, whose impulse response can be modeled as a random process, 3 in a colored noise environment. The doubly spread target spans multiple range bins (range-spread) 4 and...
متن کاملRadar Waveform Design For High Resolution Doppler Target Detection
This paper addresses the problem of optimum waveform design for multiple target detection. The notion of poly-semantic radar, which gave improved performance through coincidence detection, is analyzed for high resolution radar system in presence of high density additive noise and Doppler shift. These sequences are optimized by employing Hamming backtrack algorithm (HBT). The detection capabilit...
متن کاملGolay Complementary Waveforms in Reed–Müller Sequences for Radar Detection of Nonzero Doppler Targets
Golay complementary waveforms can, in theory, yield radar returns of high range resolution with essentially zero sidelobes. In practice, when deployed conventionally, while high signal-to-noise ratios can be achieved for static target detection, significant range sidelobes are generated by target returns of nonzero Doppler causing unreliable detection. We consider signal processing techniques u...
متن کاملUltrawideband coherent noise lidar range-Doppler imaging and signal processing by use of spatial-spectral holography in inhomogeneously broadened absorbers.
We introduce a new approach to coherent lidar range-Doppler sensing by utilizing random-noise illuminating waveforms and a quantum-optical, parallel sensor based on spatial-spectral holography (SSH) in a cryogenically cooled inhomogeneously broadened absorber (IBA) crystal. Interference between a reference signal and the lidar return in the spectrally selective absorption band of the IBA is use...
